REFERENCES: This aromatic seaweed is dried and used as a pepper- or curry-flavored spice in Scotland and Ireland. In some islands of Azores (Portugal) it is collected, cleaned, and pickled in vinegar and later eaten with fried food. is also eaten in the Hawaiian Is.
